We have been expecting a call for a few weeks now from a social worker. We confirmed after we got back from Washington State that all of our paperwork is in, all reference letters were in, and all our background checks were done. The agency was looking for a 'contingency' worker that they hire to do family studies for them and said we should hear from him or them by the end of last week. I had decided that if I didn't hear anything by yesterday I would be a squeaky wheel and make some calls today. Last night, though, he called and scheduled to meet us next Friday afternoon! He wondered if we have plans - we do, but this process is our top priority so our plans will have to wait!
We are excited and nervous and have lots of questions, as do many of you, so hopefully this begins the process of getting answers. I know the #1 question has been "how long will this take?". Well, we don't know. "It all depends" will be coming out of our mouths a lot I expect!
